Welcome to Indio, the City of Festivals!
from the Chairman of the Board

For the past 61 years the Indio Chamber of Commerce has been the voice of the business community in helping business and tourist attractions grow and prosper. With our distinction of being the largest populated city in the Coachella Valley, our community has much to offer.

City of Festivals

The Community and Business Resource Guide is just one of a multitude of resources provided by the Indio Chamber to our business partners, residents and visitors. Our Visitor Center welcomed over 20,000 visitors during the past year and answered more that 50,000 inquiries. Let us be your resource also when you need any type of information about the business community or tourism activities in Indio.

Indio, renowned as the City of Festivals, is home to eight major festivals during the year and a host of smaller events that bring culture, music, sports, entertainment, a variety of cuisine, and over 750,000 visitors to our city. Among the nationally known events are the Indio International Tamale Festival, the National Date Festival, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (European-style music festival), the Coachella Valley Stagecoach Country Music Festival, the Southwest Arts Festival, an Indian Powwow, and a Fourth of July Festival. Included in the numerous events are concerts, a regional dog show, a national girls’ field hockey tournament and more.

Southwest Arts Festival

In addition to annual festivals, Indio’s rich heritage can be seen in bold, colorful murals that decorate many buildings in Old Town and on Indio Boulevard. These historic murals tell stories of the railroad, agriculture and transportation. Also showcasing Indio’s diverse past is the Coachella Valley Historic Museum and Cultural Center which provides a glimpse into the past.

On behalf of the Indio Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, we thank the businesses who generously support this publication with their advertising and membership investment. The support of these businesses makes it possible to supply the business community and visitors with the many services provided by the chamber. We request that you will patronize these businesses who contribute to the economic well-being of Indio.

Indio is an exciting community carefully charting its course for today and generations to follow. Welcome!
