Resort living starts at home, and Indio has all the options, from upscale Mediterranean villas gated in privacy with your own water ski lake, to Spanish and Santa Fe architecture for all buyers from first time, to move-up, or for second homes.
Population
Indio’s population is in a period of accelerated growth. State estimates are based on trend-lines with actual counts occurring over 10 years. With growth occurring this fast in the city, official estimates are likely to undercount. The city’s current population is estimated to be greater than 70,000. If this trend continues, this population could more than double by 2015.
Single-Family Permits
The number of single-family building permits has been increasing sharply since 2001. Nearly 10,000 permits have been issued since 1998. Based on the number of permits issued with an average 3.5 persons per household, these homes will accommodate over 35,000 persons. The future growth will be even stronger — 2,375 single-family housing permits were issued in 2005.
