contentsIrwindale CA Chamberads

Irwindale enjoys a superior location in the heart of the East San Gabriel Valley. With four major freeways at our borders, Irwindale has convenient access to all markets in Southern California.

The Foothill Freeway (210) on the north leads not only to Pasadena and the San Fernando Valley but also to the Inland Empire with the newly completed extension to Fontana. The San Gabriel River Freeway (605) on the west, and the Orange Freeway (57) on the east will lead you to the beautiful beaches of Orange County and many of Southern California’s main attractions. The San Bernardino Freeway (10) provides easy access to Los Angeles communities west of Irwindale while leading you to the Inland Empire to the east, including ski resorts and vacation destinations in the San Bernardino Mountains and the desert beauty of Palm Springs.

Metrolink, the region’s commuter rail system, provides an easy commute to Los Angeles and San Bernardino. Convenient stations are in neighboring Baldwin Park and Covina.

The Metro
The Foothill Gold Line Extension from Pasadena to Azusa broke ground on June 26, 2010. The project is ontime and on-budget to be completed in late-September 2015, when it will be turned over to Metro for prerevenue service. Metro will determine when the line opens for passenger service. Planned stops include City of Hope, Irwindale, and Citrus College among others.

As of late-February 2015, the Foothill Gold Line from Pasadena to Azusa is nearly 90% complete. Over the last several years of design and construction, the team has completed all design, 14 new at-grade street crossings, 25 bridge structures (including the Gold Line Bridge over the I-210 Freeway), relocated the freight track in Irwindale and Azusa, completed 26 miles of light rail track, began construction on all stations and station parking facilities, and much more.

Foothill Transit provides comprehensive local public bus transportation with 35 lines covering more than 327 square miles to over 15 million customers each year in the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys.
