Welcome to La Canada Flintridge

La Cañada Flintridge (LCF) is that rare jewel of a community. With its small-town manners and atmosphere, its top-ranked schools (public and private), its safety, the beauty of its foothills and its enviable affluence (according to www.forbes.com, LCF is the 18th-most affluent community in the country), the city is a uniquely attractive place to work, live and grow families, businesses and friendships. With all the benefits of a close knit small town, but situated close to one of the world’s leading cities, La Cañada Flintridge offers a quality of life unsurpassed anywhere.

Since 1912, the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce and Community Association has served our wonderful community. The Chamber, like the town, is also unique in that we are both a chamber of commerce and a community association. As a chamber of commerce, we have been a driving force in the business community, ensuring a vibrant, rich business environment with support services to assist any and all business issues, such as city/business ombudsman services, business mixers and community/business ambassadors. As a community association, we enrich the social fabric of our town by being the organization that puts on events such as our Holiday Festival in Lights, which lights our town for the season; all the Memorial Day weekend events and parade; and the weekly Farmers’ Market.

What differentiates one community from another is the sum total of the entire social infrastructure, organizations and activities of its citizens—a community’s “social capital.” Unlike financial or physical capital, which depreciate with use, social capital actually appreciates with use. The more one shops at local businesses, attends one’s place of worship and is active in a community organization, the better all these things become. The Chamber is proud of its contributions to our deeply grounded community culture, where we have added to our town’s reserves of social capital. But it requires the continued personal involvement of each of us to sustain and grow this legacy, for now and for our children. I encourage you to buy goods and services locally and to get involved in our community—the Chamber is a great place to start.
