Community Overview
Meaning “the glen between the hills,” La Cañada Flintridge was incorporated in 1976 and is home to over 21,000 residents. In the town’s backdrop lies the San Gabriel Mountains, just 20 minutes from downtown Los Angeles.
The area is home to La Cañada Unified School District, which is consistently among California’s top five percent of schools, and contains three elementary schools and a high school, with several parochial schools as alternative educational options.
A variety of restaurants and retail stores are located within the Foothill Boulevard business district, and for outdoor recreation, LCF has six parks from which to choose. Citizens love the outdoors, as residents have about 300 days of sunshine and a median year-round climate of around 64 degrees.
The city’s location grants quick access to neighboring suburbs, such as Glendale and Pasadena, and it’s just a quick drive to Bob Hope Airport in Burbank.
