The
corporate boundary of the City encompasses an area of 7.3 square miles,
and has elevations that range from 350 to 520 feet above sea level. Average
temperatures range from 48 to 74 degrees. Average annual rainfall is 14.5
inches. La Habra is located in a valley between the Puente Hills and the
West Coyote Hills, and is located approximately 20 miles southeast of
metropolitan Los Angeles and is within the Anaheim-Santa Ana-Garden Grove
Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area (SMSA). The City is located less
than one hour from many beaches, mountain and desert recreation areas.
The City is also within a one hour drive to three major airports (Los
Angeles International, John Wayne and Ontario) and two major ports (Port
of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach). Additionally, the City is only
three miles from the Fullerton Train Station, which serves Amtrak and
Metro Link.
At the present time,
the City is for the most part built out, with over 99.9% of the Citys
land area either developed or under development.
The City, as it is
currently developed, has a broad range of housing types and styles and
prices; a range of shopping, professional and commercial services; and
light industrial areas. The City can best be described as a "bedroom community"
in that the labor force is larger than the job market within the city
and most of the Citys residents are employed elsewhere within the
region.
