La Mirada Higher Education

Local Community Colleges in and near La Mirada are some of the best in the United States.


Biola University, located between the large east-west thoroughfares of Rosecrans Avenue and Imperial Highway, is bounded on the west by Biola Avenue and on the east by La Mirada Boulevard. The campus consists of 95 acres with 700,000-square feet of building space. Nearly 1,500 students attend classrooms in 30 major buildings, including Soubirou Hall, containing specialized nursing instruction.

On the eastern side of the campus lie the athletic fields - an excellent baseball diamond, a soccer field and lighted tennis courts. In addition to more than 15 acres of recreational facilities on campus, there are off-campus facilities in the 105-acre La Mirada Regional Park, just across La Mirada Boulevard from the Biola campus.

Complementing Biola University is nearby Cerritos College. With a large number of courses, programs of study and other opportunities available to students of all backgrounds and ages, Cerritos College is committed to student success.

Biola University

Founded in 1955, Cerritos College is a public comprehensive community college serving an area of 52-square miles of southeastern Los Angeles County. The college offers degrees and certificates in more than 200 areas of study. Over 1,200 students from diverse backgrounds successfully complete their course of studies each year.

La Mirada students also attend many of the excellent major universities and four-year colleges nearby including; Cal State University - Fullerton, University of Southern California - USC, University of California, Los Angeles - UCLA, University of California, Irvine - UCI, Calif. State Polytechnic Univ. - Pomona (Calpoly) and many more.
