Located in gorgeous
and luxurious Orange County, La Palma is simple to navigate and has a
wide array of transportation options to make entering or leaving the city
a smooth process. Orange County has a sophisticated public transportation
system that makes commuting a stress-free operation, while the entire
Los Angeles area makes use of the metropolis’ long-distance air
and rail travel options.
Southern California is home to an elaborate network of expressways that
offer a direct route to nearly any destination in the region. Interstate
5 and state Route 91 serve La Palma most directly and link quickly with
well-traveled highways such as I-605, I-405, I-710 and many more.
The Orange County Transportation Authority’s commuter rail lines
carry more than 9,000 passengers on busy days and more than 1.6 million
each year. Part of southern California’s rail system, Orange County’s
remains the most well-used in the state. Lines travel to and from Los
Angeles as well as many other parts of the region. The OCTA also operates
a bus system that has become increasingly popular in recent years amid
escalating fuel prices and traffic congestion. During peak hours, nearly
600 buses follow close to 80 routes. Moreover, OCTA planners consistently
anticipate changing traffic conditions and adjust accordingly. A recent
initiative, for example, will boost the system’s services by 49
percent during the next 11 years. Curb-to-curb services for disabled patrons
are available as well.
Los Angeles International Airport remains one of the busiest transportation
hubs on the planet, but several other major airports serve the area as
well. Long Beach/ Daugherty Field is eight miles away, Orange County’s
John Wayne Airport is 18 miles away, and Fullerton Municipal Airport is
six miles away. The facilities combine to accommodate any long-distance
travel need to or from Orange County.
