Smart Thinking
Five school districts serve La Palma: Fullerton, Anaheim, Centralia, Cypress
and Buena Park. Though the resulting effect on La Palma can be confusing,
the city’s planners maintain positions of influence in those districts
to ensure La Palma’s students receive the best education possible.
Most of the city’s students attend one of five schools within the
city limits. John F. Kennedy High has more than 2,000 students, while
Walker Junior High, Steve Luther Elementary, George B. Miller Elementary
and Los Coyotes Elementary are each conveniently located and offer a first-rate
education. Additionally, many private and parochial schools operate throughout
Orange County, including La Palma Christian School.
Those seeking higher education opportunities are in one of the finest
academic atmospheres on the planet. The University of California-Los Angeles
and the University of Southern California are within a short drive and
have established reputations around the globe as world-class institutions.
Cypress College, Biola University, Cerritos College, Long Beach City College,
Bethesda Christian University, Cal State-Long Beach, Fullerton College
and Cal State Fullerton are among the other colleges and universities
near La Palma with excellent degree programs.
