Real Estate

The City of La Quinta has been one of California’s fastest-growing cities for more than a decade. Since 1990, the city’s permanent population has blossomed over 150 percent to 43,778.

La Quinta’s growth can be attributed to both the beauty of our city and the vision of our city leaders. That foresight and the fact that La Quinta is an extraordinary place to live, gives us pause as we relish in our magnificent mountain views, 350 days of sunshine and friendly residents.

La Quinta offers housing opportunities that are unparalleled in the Coachella Valley. From low-cost affordable housing, traditional single-family homes and apartments to world-class multimillion-dollar custom homes in gated communities, La Quinta offers a variety of housing styles that will meet your primary or secondary home needs.

Traditionally a golf mecca with numerous golf courses, La Quinta provides a diverse selection of home sites with waterfront or mountain views to entice the most discriminating buyer. Nationally known for its outstanding community development, La Quinta has been awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification, (the highest) for the Vista Dunes Courtyard Homes affordable housing project.

La Quinta—it’s a great place to call home!

The Village/Old Town

The Village area of La Quinta is full of local charm and a picturesque Main Street, lined with restaurants, boutiques, cafés and shops. At Old Town, you can pass the day with friends, run a quick errand or relax at a sidewalk café. Old Town is alive with outdoor concerts, art shows, seasonal activities and a weekly in-season farmers market. Come explore...enjoy...experience...

Gated Communities

One of the distinctive characteristics of La Quinta is the aspect of “gated communities,” which abound throughout the Coachella Valley. While some entrances have “guards” that greet you with a smile, others may have a call box whereby the visitor calls their host to gain entrance. Gated communities provide an added measure of sanctuary and security along with many amenities to free up residents from outdoor work. Another pleasantry is the lush seasonal flowers most communities indulge in and the care taken on the common landscape. Most would agree that the picturesque views with the subtleties make the “gated communities” worthwhile.

Active Adults

Our “active adult” community is supported by one of the Valley’s best service providers—The La Quinta Senior Center. The La Quinta Senior Center is an area focal point offering a wide range of services to adults 55 years of age and older. The Center offers a variety of classes, seminars, special events and weekly programs. The Senior Center, which is located at 78-450 Avenida La Fonda, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The Senior Center can be reached at (760) 564-0096.

Seminars and special events are open to all adults. Adults 55 and over are given priority for class and activity registration. In the event a class/activity is not filled one day prior to its starting date, adults under 55 will be accepted.

Residential Recycling Programs

The city of La Quinta provides one 64-gallon gray automated recycling cart to every non-gated, single-family home through its partnership with Burrtec Waste & Recycling Services. Residents of gated communities may or may not have access to the automated recycling program.

Recyclables are collected on the same day as trash. Additional recycling carts are available to residents at no charge. For another cart, simply call Burrtec Waste & Recycling Services customer service center at (760) 340-2113.

Residents living in a multi-unit facility also have access to the recycling program. Access is available in the same manner trash is serviced. It may be curbside or a centralized drop-off location. For more information on available services, contact the property manager or check with Burrtec Waste & Recycling Services.
