La Quinta Arts and Entertainment
The Chamber of Commerce and the City of La Quinta are understandably proud of the cultural arts community made possible by the relationship between the city, the chamber, the La Quinta Arts Foundation, the Historical Society, the La Quinta Playhouse, the La Quinta Library and the Friends of the Library.
A key component of this cultural partnership is the La Quinta Arts Foundation, presenter of the annual La Quinta Arts Festival. Set on the stunning grounds of La Quinta Civic Center at the foot of the majestic Santa Rosa Mountains, the La Quinta Arts Festival is the cultural jewel of the City of La Quinta.
La Quinta Arts Foundation is a charitable organization incorporated in 1982 and dedicated to its mission of “Promoting and Cultivating the Arts.” This mission is accomplished by producing top quality visual art events for residents and visitors. Their fundraisers include the nationally acclaimed La Quinta Arts Festival, as well as Desert Plein Air and Art Under the Umbrellas at Old Town La Quinta.
Other notable cultural opportunities in the Valley are the Palm Springs Air Museum, the McCallum Theatre, the Desert Art Museum, the Children’s Discovery Museum, and the Living Desert. The City of La Quinta hosts free concerts for the general public on the campus amphitheatre during the warmer months. These wonderful opportunities await residents and visitors alike.
