Ambassadors – The Ambassadors are the goodwill arm of the Chamber of Commerce and the business community. They help coordinate ribbon-cutting ceremonies, grand openings and other Chamber events. Ambassadors act as “special greeters” at the Chamber’s many activities and they are responsible for introducing and welcoming new members. The Ambassadors meet the third Tuesday of the month at noon in the Chamber Conference Room.
Education – Business owners are well aware of the importance of an educated workforce and are spending a great deal of time working with educators to enhance the educational system. This committee is actively involved with local education programs and is adjourned on an as needed basis.
Economic Development – Business attraction, business expansion and business retention are the cornerstone of this committee. Emphasis is placed on understanding the city and region with the goal of providing a healthy business climate, more jobs and a strong financial base. The Economic Development Committee meets the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30 a.m. at the Chamber.
Film Commission – The Livermore Chamber of Commerce Film Commission was formed to market the city and surrounding area as a location for television and film production. The Film Commission (which includes the Mayor and County Supervisor as members) helps unravel red tape for filmmakers, and acts as a one-stop permit office. The staff helps scout locations and continues to lend support to productions once they begin work. Location filming has huge economic benefits for all businesses in an area. One production can leave millions in a city, and the Chamber feels this is a great way to serve its members and its community.
Government Affairs – Business can no longer operate in a vacuum. Community concerns, labor issues, and the environment all impact your ability to achieve a prosperous future. This committee monitors governmental and legislative activities, and members are alerted to current and future issues. When required, strategies are developed and actions are recommended to the Board of Directors. The Government Affairs Committee meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:30 a.m. at the Chamber.
