Fifteen years ago a small group of Livermore residents dreamed about creating a world-class performing arts center. Now that dream is becoming a reality with the opening of the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center’s 500-seat Bankhead Theater in downtown Livermore. The new theater provides a home for some of the area’s finest performing arts organizations, as well as hosting visiting artists and ensembles from around the Bay Area and across the United States. In addition to the Bankhead Theater, LVPAC operates the Bothwell Arts Center, a community arts incubator and is developing a 1,800-seat Regional Theater to be built at the corner of South Livermore Avenue and First Street. LVPAC programs provide enhanced arts, educational and cultural opportunities for residents and visitors to the Tri-Valley.
