Education
The mission of the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) is to nurture lifelong learners to reach their full potential as respectful, productive and responsible contributors to the community at large. The District serves K-12 students with an experienced, talented staff of educators at all grade levels. The school district has 11 elementary schools, four middle, two comprehensive high schools, and offers alternative programs. For more information, visit their website at www.livermoreschools.com or call (925) 606-3200.
Childcare
California ranks in the top 10 nationwide for childcare, and Livermore boasts some of the state’s most comprehensive childcare services. Most notable is the availability for elementary and middle school-age children to participate in before- and after-school programs year-round at all of the elementary schools and middle schools in Livermore.
The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District’s Extended Student Services and TNRG/PAL programs provide quality before and after-school care for children in grades K-8 at each of Livermore’s 11 elementary and four middle schools. The programs at the elementary schools are licensed, and have funding from the State Department of Education to provide subsidy funding for low-income families. Call the ESS/KZ office at (925) 373-5785 for more information. Subsidy is also available for the TNRG/PAL program, and staff can be reached at (925) 373-5728.
