Welcome from the Chamber President

Bienvenidos! Welcome to Long Beach, California, the fifth largest city in the state and Southern California’s premier coastal city of business, trade and commerce.

The Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is committed to developing businesses in Southern California by showcasing the strength and vitality of the Southern California business community. We accomplish this task by stimulating and seeding the development of businesses in the public and private sector. Long Beach’s business community has all the characteristics of other metropolises throughout the country, while still maintaining the quaintness and community feel of a small town. This paradox of big city and small town is part of what makes Long Beach so special to the individuals that live and do business in this community.

In 2008, we made a number of strides in this area, from unprecedented MOUs to being the point of contact for several high-profile conventions, increased visitors to our beautiful city and increased trade relationships throughout the state. Our 2008 strategic plan has expanded on the successes achieved the previous year, and this year we have developed more businesses and are actively promoting programs to benefit the local, small, minority and women-owned businesses in the Southern California Region. To gage the effect that the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has on the local business community, simply join us for one of our highly attended events, or engage an active member of our Chamber in discussion and it won’t take long for you to understand the benefits we provide.

With a city as ethnically diverse as Long Beach, our entertainment and attractions are no different. Sporting a vast waterfront packed with activities from the historic Queen Mary to the Aquarium of the Pacific, Long Beach offers activities for just about any interest. Long Beach is also home to unmatched museums such as the Long Beach Museum of Art and the recently renovated Museum of Latin American Art. I encourage you to connect with Long Beach at one of our signature events, or to take advantage of our workshops and other business resources we offer. Enjoy all that Long Beach has to offer, and on behalf of the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, we hope you’ll join our network and grow your business with us.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Board of Directors for their dedication and support. A special thanks to our CSULB Regional Executive Interns – without these students’ internship hours, we could not get the job done. And thank you to our staff, Evan Lamont, our Membership, and especially to our Sponsors. Thank you for believing in the mission of the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Sincerely Yours,

Sandy Cajas
