Outstanding public education is afforded through Manteca Unified School District (MUSD), a K–12 system serving more than 24,000 students. The district is composed of 20 elementary schools and five high schools (plus a sixth one targeted for opening between 2012–

2014), along with two alternative facilities—Manteca Day School and New Vision Educational Center. MUSD also operates the Lindbergh Adult School, which offers career education, diploma and GED courses, older adult programs, enrichment classes, an ESL program, and more. Further possibilities in addition to the public school route are available through a number of exceptional private and parochial institutions.

Within a 20-minute drive, college-bound students can attend one of several Stockton-based, two- and four-year higher learning institutions, including the University of the Pacific, San Joaquin Delta College, California State University-Stanislaus’ Stockton Center, Heald College, MTI Business College and National University. Nearby Modesto is home to Chapman University and Modesto Junior College, while Lathrop hosts ITT Technical Institute and the University of Phoenix.
