A tactical location in the center of California provides Manteca commuters, businesses and visitors with an assortment of convenient transportation options that offer links to the San Francisco Bay Area, the Sierra Nevada and beyond. The city is bisected by the Highway 120 Bypass, a connector between Highway 99 and I-5, and is also in close proximity to I-205 (via I-5), the area’s major link to the Bay Area. The city manages Manteca Transit, which operates two routes in the area, as well as Dial-A-Ride service. The Union Pacific Railroad and Santa Fe Railroad operate major rail-to-truck intermodal operations nearby, and the Port of Stockton is just 12 miles northwest of Manteca. As for air transportation, the nearby Stockton Metropolitan Airport serves the general aviation population, along with commercial aircraft and corporate jets.
