Life at its Best
Montclair’s family-safe neighborhoods are primarily traditional single-family homes located on quiet streets. The city offers a quality lifestyle with many amenities that help to make a neighborhood safe and secure. From established equestrian estate homes to condominium and townhome developments, Montclair has a wide mix of housing for a person’s lifestyle and budget, including luxury apartments and other multi-family complexes. Newer housing developments offer a wide range of sizes and pricing and reflect quality architecture styles and sound planning practices that have created first-class neighborhood environments.
Montclair’s new single-family developments in the southern part of the city have sold quickly in the $550,000+ range, with many more subdivisions in planning review with the City. Other quality, affordable City-sponsored projects include new family and senior housing developments.
To help keep established neighborhoods attractive and well-maintained, the City’s Redevelopment Agency’s Exterior Housing Improvement Program (EHIP) is designed to provide rehabilitation grants to income-qualified property owners desiring to make exterior improvements to their single-family homes. EHIP offers grants based on Health and Safety Code improvements, some of which include exterior painting, front yard landscaping and irrigation.
