A popular weekend destination for locals and visitors is the public land around Lake Berryessa. The lake is 23 miles long, three miles wide and has 165 miles of shoreline. On the water, activities include boating, water skiing, jet skiing, houseboats, kayaking, fishing and swimming. There are many parks and trails for hiking surrounding the lake for picnicking and wildlife viewing. From Napa: Take Highway 121 northeast toward Lake Berryessa to reach the Reclamation Headquarters, Visitor Center, Capell Cove Boat Launch and two Day Use Parks. Turn left at Moskowite Corners on Highway 128. Turn right on Knoxville Road and follow the signs. Remember to stock up on gas and supplies – there are no major services available around the lake.
