At any time of year, you'll find something special going on in the desert. Long known for its "season," the winter/spring calendar is crowded with events. Summer, too, has its own charm, when the pace slows throughout the valley and the more casual events delight the locals. A sampling of the most popular desert events includes: The Bob Hope Classic Golf Tournament (January); the Battle at Bighorn (July); the one and only, world-renowned Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade (November); plus the City's Springfest, a family day in the park; Fourth of July celebration; Putt Putt On El Paseo, where players "play through" golf holes inside area businesses; plus summer concerts and movies in beautiful Civic Center Park. The galleries of El Paseo host monthly evening Art & Wine tours. Corporate Way, the city's newest art enclave, also hosts monthly events. You'll find polo matches and horse shows during the spring months. Plus horseback riding, hot air ballooning and helicopter rides!
