If the mysteries of the worlds deserts appeal to you, The Living Desert is a must-see! This 1,200-acre interpretive center of desert life is home to warthogs, Arabian oryxes, desert unicorns, mountain lions, cheetahs, Mexican wolves, big horn sheep and many more. In addition are magnificent botanical gardens, nature trails, and the new WaTuTu African Village.
Major entertainment from all arenas of the performing arts are staged at The McCallum Theatre. This 1,140-seat venue is noted for its billings of acclaimed entertainers from all reaches of the globe - from classical music, Broadway shows and the latest in contemporary dance, audiences eagerly anticipate each new season at the McCallum.
Renowned internationally, Palm Deserts own Golf Cart Parade takes place every November. Over its more than 30-year history, this fun-filled local event has grown to draw crowds in excess of 25,000 parade-watchers along its route down El Paseo. Extravagantly decorated (and frequently hilarious!) golf cart floats, marching bands and entertainment of all kinds thrill locals and tourists alike.
