Higher education. College of the Desert, located in nearby Palm Desert, is a two-year California State Community College with an enrollment of approximately 10,000 students per semester. Associate’s degrees and certificate programs are offered in more than 70 areas of study. All who are high school graduates or 18 years of age or older are eligible to attend.
