Riverside County Regional Medical Center (RCRMC) is the new standard for advanced healthcare in Riverside County. Contained within the walls of a magnificently designed facility, this state-of-the-art 520,000-square-foot hospital features the latest technology in medical services. With a 362-bed capacity, the hospital offers the unique privacy and convenience of single-patient rooms. As a teaching hospital, RCRMC provides a broad base of academic and clinical training for physicians, physician assistants, nurses and allied healthcare professionals. From its Pediatric Intensive Care Unit to the Level II Trauma Center, which is the busiest in Riverside County, to the 70-plus specialty care clinics, RCRMC is designed to meet unique healthcare needs.

New Eye Clinic Opens in Riverside

The staff and surgeons at Loma Linda University Health Care (LLUHC) Ophthalmology expanded to Riverside in the form of a new office, Loma Linda University Ophthalmology at Riverwalk. This new office, which opened in mid-January 2009, is located at the new Medical Park at Riverwalk.

LLUHC Ophthalmology is known for its leadership in research and technology, as well as its excellence in patient care. They have been recruiting new and dynamic physicians in a wide variety of subspecialty areas within the field of ophthalmology such as Oculoplastics and retinal disorders. Five such physicians are at Loma Linda University Ophthalmology at Riverwalk. In addition, the new office has state-of-the-art equipment, and the ophthalmologists treat a number of eye diseases, including glaucoma and cataracts. Laser vision correction is also available.

The March Healthcare Development LifeCare project will provide for the development of a state-of-the-art, integrated healthcare campus. The campus provides for a wide range of general and military medical-related services, including hospitals, general and specialty medical offices, medical retail, research and education, a wellness center, a senior center, independent/assisted-living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and related support facilities. Currently, approximately half of the residents of southwestern Riverside County leave the area to obtain necessary and elective healthcare services. The project will facilitate the development of an integrated master-planned campus to address the entire healthcare continuum.
