Temple City - Home of Camellias
Held annually on the last weekend of February, the Camellia Festival still embodies the same goal since its origins in the early 1940s. The year 1945 brought about the beginning of the traditional annual Camellia Festival Parade. The main goal of the festival, past and present, is to promote the many youth organizations of Temple City. During the first Camellia Festival, Temple City youth groups participated by walking in a parade through Temple City, and to this day, nearly 4,000 children march in the parade annually.
