One of the main resources for recreation is the City of Tracy Parks & Community Services Department. The department oversees more than 70 parks and facilities in Tracy, totaling 250+ acres of developed space. The largest of these sites is the Tracy Sports Complex, a 27-acre area featuring ball and soccer fields, BBQ facilities and a play area. Other large sites in the area include Plasensia Fields, El Pescadero Park, the Tracy Ball Park, Dr. Powers Park and Lincoln Park.
In addition to these sites, the department offers a year-round schedule of recreational programs for youth, teens and adults. Among the many activities residents participate in include summer day camps, aquatics, sports and arts programs, to name a few. The community also hosts the Lolly Hansen Senior Center, which supplies local seniors with a spectrum of activities, including bingo, bocce ball, scrapbooking, card games, arts and crafts, trips and nutritional programs.
For outdoor pursuits, Tracy is located within reach of several major recreation sites, including the California Bay-Delta, the San Francisco Bay, Yosemite National Park and Lake Tahoe. Just southwest of town is the Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area; to the southeast is the Durham Ferry State Recreation Area and Caswell Memorial State Park—all offering great opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. There are also plenty of options for golfers in the region. Locally, golfers hit the greens at the Old River Golf Course & Range and the Tracy Golf & Country Club.
