City Services

The City of Tracy, a general law city, operates under the City Manager form of government, with seven elected officials leading the city. Among these officials is the five-member City Council, consisting of the City Manager (Mayor) and four council members, along with the City Clerk and City Treasurer. The Assistant City Manager and the City Attorney are also part of the city’s management staff. Regularly scheduled City Council meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 7 p.m. within the council chambers at City Hall (333 Civic Center Plaza). Agendas are available online, at City Hall or at the Tracy Public Library at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting.

Eight departments comprise the City of Tracy, including fire, police, finance and administrative services, public works, parks and community services, development and engineering services, human resources and economic development. In addition, the city oversees several boards and commissions, which invites community members to participate in various city topics.
