Turlock is proud of its small-town charm, which is very evident throughout the downtown and residential neighborhoods. More than half the homes in Turlock are owner occupied, thus creating more pride in the community. With over 24,000 homes currently standing, there is truly something for everyone’s budget and tastes. In 2007, 148 permits were secured for the new construction of single-family and multi-family dwellings. As the city continues to grow, so does the housing market.
The median price of homes in 2007 was $324,000. This is below the California state average and provides more people with the opportunity to achieve the American dream of home ownership. Of course, for those not interested in home ownership have plenty of other options including town homes, condos, and apartments.
