Emanuel Medical Center

Emanuel Medical Center has been the heart of healing in Turlock since 1917, dedicated to providing the best care possible for residents of Turlock and nearby communities.

Emanuel is a not-for-profit, community-based Christian healthcare organization owned by the Evangelical Covenant Church. Emanuel’s main campus on Delbon Avenue includes a 209-bed, acute care hospital, a 145-bed skilled nursing facility and a 49-bed assisted living facility. But Emanuel is much more.

Emanuel provides a full range of health and hospitalization services, including emergency and critical care, birthing, neonatal intensive care and pediatrics, imaging and laboratory services, medical and radiological oncology, cardiology, women’s health services, surgical and rehabilitation services, hospice, medical student education, community health education and spiritual support. Here are highlights of just a few of Emanuel’s services:

Emanuel Cancer Center
Emanuel Cancer Center’s multi-faceted cancer diagnostic and treatment services were founded on the idea that people in Turlock and nearby communities shouldn’t have to travel far from home to find top-quality cancer care. Located on Tuolumne Rd., the expert team of care providers serves patients on their journey through cancer. The Cancer Center houses Stanford Emanuel Radiation Oncology Center, a clinical joint venture with Stanford Hospital & Clinics and Stanford University School of Medicine; Ruby E. Bergman Women’s Diagnostic Center; Emanuel Specialty Care – Medical Oncology and Emanuel Specialty Care-Surgery.

The Cancer Center is also home to a growing array of cancer resources—a place patients can access a growing medical library and clinical trials information, as well as support groups, classes, social services for patients and their families and complementary therapies, like free massages for cancer patients. To learn more about Emanuel’s cancer programs, call (209) 664-2434.

Stanford-Emanuel Radiation Oncology Center
The technological heart of the Stanford-Emanuel Radiation Oncology Center is a $3 million Varian Trilogy linear accelerator, technology that focuses therapeutic radiation exactly where it’s needed. Coupled with a top-of-the-line imaging scanner, the Stanford-Emanuel Radiation Oncology Center boasts technology that is second-to-none. These tools allow Stanford radiation oncologists to precisely target tumor sites, time radiation delivery to a patient’s breathing, perform image-guided radiation therapy, image-guided radio surgery and other advanced procedures like partial breast irradiation and stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call (209) 664-5030.

Under the direction of a breast diagnostic expert, the beautiful 6,000-square-foot clinic provides patients with the latest in digital mammography, upright stereotactic treatment and the region’s first dedicated breast MRI machine.

Women who have – or may have – breast cancer no longer have to go through the diagnostic and treatment process alone thanks to Emanuel’s Breast Health Navigator. The navigator’s role is to facilitate communication and coordination of care from the moment a patient receives a possible diagnosis of breast cancer. Emanuel’s Breast Health Navigator, Debbie Tuttle, helps patients arrange all the diagnostic tests they need as quickly as possible, minimizing the fear and uncertainty that not knowing brings. To reach Breast Health Navigator, Debbie Tuttle, call 209-664-2431.

The Women’s Diagnostic Center also provides patients with genetic risk-assessment, pre-operative wire localizations, digital high-resolution targeted breast ultrasounds, core and vacuum-assisted breast and stereotactic biopsies.
