In 1882 the Chaffey brothers, founders of the Upland colony, sat on their horses at the base of these mountains and marveled at the regions natural beauty while crystallizing their dream of a community. Their master plan featured Euclid Avenue - a stunning 200-foot-wide avenue which still spans the cities boundaries today - as its centerpiece. The magnificent trees shading the greenbelt characterize the community the brothers envisioned more than 100 years ago.

worlds largest privately owned airport. It serves private, corporate
and individual flyers, and offers commuter and freight air transport
services. Metrolink affords Upland commuters and residents easy access to the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The Upland Metrolink station, located at the intersection of 2nd Ave. and A St., serves the highest ridership in the Inland Empire. Freeway access is available in minutes from anywhere in Upland. East/west Interstate 10 connects to north/south Interstate 15 and the 57 Freeway in less than 15 minutes. Located in the northernmost part of the city, the soon-to-be-constructed east/west 210 Freeway will provide convenient connection from San Bernardino to the east and to the renowned "Grapevine" (Interstate 5) to the west.
