Staying active is easy in this region, as residents and visitors have access to numerous community park sites, recreational facilities, well-preserved natural areas and golf courses. Local municipal and county parks and recreation departments maintain acres of parkland and offer a year-round programming schedule for people of all ages.

Spending time outdoors is a favorite pastime of many Californians. Fortunately, residents of Tulare and Kings counties have access to plenty of outdoor spaces, which yield unending opportunities for outdoor recreation. In fact, Visalia, the county seat of Tulare County, is recognized as the gateway to the Sequoia National Forest, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park and the Sequoia National Monument.
