Buena Vista’s “Banana Belt” weather continues to draw new residents to the area. Coupled with the area’s many recreational activities and the proximity to Colorado Springs and Denver, Buena Vista is becoming a big draw for baby boomers choosing a spot for retirement and/or a second home. There are several new subdivisions in and around town with lots ranging from less than one-acre to more than five acres. The South Main River Park project is a new urbanism community that mixes business and residential buildings and is adjacent to the Arkansas River and Whitewater Park. And from everywhere, you see the majestic Collegiate Peaks.
