Buena Vista’s “Banana Belt” weather continues to draw new residents to the area. Coupled with the area's many recreational activities and the proximity to Colorado Springs and Denver, Buena Vista is becoming a big draw for baby boomers choosing a spot for retirement and/or a second home. There are several new subdivisions in and around town, with lots ranging from less than one acre to over five acres. And from everywhere, you see the majestic Collegiate Peaks! The South Main River Park project is underway, using the new urban concept, which mixes business and residential buildings as well as a water park for kayakers.
