The Eagle Valley is no longer simply a seasonal place to live, and the numbers prove it. The Town of Eagle has a population of 3,500, and housing development continues in The Bluffs, Eagle Ranch and Eby Creek. The growth coincides with new housing developments and expansion of Eagle’s commercial base. The popularity of Gypsum as a place of full-time residence is apparent by the new developments of Buckhorn Valley, Chatfield Corners and Cotton Ranch. Two Rivers, just west of Gypsum in Dotsero, is the latest development to offer affordable single-family housing.
Due to the rapid pace of growth within these communities, plans are being put into place to prepare for expansion. Many aspects of town life are being studied and examined to determine appropriate actions regarding future expenditures of money and resources in order to accommodate the anticipated growth that will likely continue into the foreseeable future. Projects either in the planning or building stages in the Eagle Valley include infrastructure capacity and the purchase of additional land.
