graphicEstes Park’s primary industry is tourism. For centuries, visitors have been drawn to Estes Park for its magnificent scenery, wonderful weather and abundant wildlife. While summer is the busiest tourist season in Estes Park, festivals and the autumn gold of the aspen trees extend the

season through October. Many visitors come in the quieter winter months to enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice-skating and the serenity and beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park blanketed in snow. Visitors in search of unique holiday gifts find Estes Park aglow with lights from Thanksgiving through January. Spring is a great time for strolling the sidewalks of town and enjoying great shopping and dining.

Estes Park offers many experiences, from small cafes and bistros to high-end restaurants that occupy historic buildings. There is cuisine to suit every taste, from local fare to ethnic specialties.

Many restaurants are close to downtown but some can also be found in neighboring areas. One restaurant, located in a historic inn, serves only its renowned soup and salad bar. Another includes wild game on its menu. Others feature authentic Mexican, Italian and other international dishes. Guests looking for a taste of the Old West can enjoy a chuck wagon dinner along with a hayride and country music.

Estes Park has been a popular family destination for decades, primarily because of an abundance of good, clean, outdoor fun for everyone.

Rocky Mountain National Park and its 355 miles of hiking trails, watchable wildlife areas, beautiful lakes and streams, and craggy peaks attract more than 3,000,000 visitors each year. For many, the drive over the Continental Divide via Trail Ridge Road is a highlight of the trip.

In addition to the natural attractions of the area, Estes Park has family fun centers which offer great miniature golf courses, bumper boats, a batting cage, a miniature train, go karts, a giant slide and arcade games. Horseback riding is available through several area stables.

The town boasts a state-of-the-art municipal pool, adjacent to the local elementary school. The local recreation and park district operates a marina on Lake Estes and offers several services, including boat rentals.

The YMCA of the Rockies offers many activities for its guests as well as for local members. Educational, hands-on, outdoor seminars are available through organizations and businesses. Various art exhibits, plays and concerts take place throughout the year.
