While
agriculture continues to serve as a cornerstone to Evans economic
base, manufacturing and retail trade play an increasingly important role
in our everyday life. According to the latest census, Evans boasts 208
manufacturing establishments that employ more than 10,000 citizens, 247
wholesale trade businesses employing 2,800 workers and 505 retail outlets
that provide nearly 6,200 jobs. Other fast growing industries include
health care, educational services, and finance/insurance/real estate.
The Evans Chamber
of Commerce is a vital part of the communitys present and future,
balancing the opportunity for growth with the citys sense of small-town
independence. Evans offers incentive programs from many types of business,
and the 45 bank offices around the county welcome loan applications.
In
addition to available prime commercial space, such as the State Farm building,
the area offers transportation avenues necessary to businesses. The Greeley-Weld
County Airport is the fastest growing business aviation facility in Colorado,
and it recently spent $14 million to renovate and add a new state-of-the-art
runway.
