Thompson R2-J School District
The Thompson School District is the 17th largest school district in Colorado, encompassing 362 square miles, and is the largest employer in Loveland and Berthoud. Thompson School District is a pre-K through 12th grade district with 13 early childhood centers, 20 elementary schools, five middle schools, five high schools and two charter schools. District enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year was 16,145 students.
Its schools offer a number of educational options including: International Baccalaureate (IB) and pre-IB programs; a Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) focus at one high school and two elementary schools; Core Knowledge programs; the Loveland area Integrated School of the Arts (LISA), K-12; and Advanced Placement programs. We are also home to the Loveland/Berthoud Enrichment Access Program (LEAP), which supports parents who choose to school their children at home or outside a public setting. The district-wide graduating class of 2015 earned over $17 million in scholarships.
In addition to public schools, Loveland offers many private religious-affiliated schools. These schools include: Resurrection Christian School, the largest pre-K through 12th grade private school in Northern Colorado offering a college preparatory Christian education; St. John the Evangelist Catholic School, a pre-K through 8th grade private school offering a Catholic education, rigorous academic program and reasonable class sizes of around 25 students; Immanuel Lutheran School, a pre-K through 8th grade private school recognized for its exemplary students, nurturing and safe environment and outstanding academic program; and Campion Academy, a private boarding school dedicated to educating high school students with an Adventist curriculum and developing students physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.

As the information center of the community, the Loveland Public Library strives to be accessible and active in outreach to people of all ages and backgrounds. The Library enables the public to be informed, educated, entertained, and culturally enriched, bridging the past to the future and one community resource to another. To fulfill this mission, the Library offers a diverse collection of print materials and electronic resources, and emphasizes excellent customer service in a welcoming environment.
