The county seat of Rio Blanco County, Meeker Chamber of Commerce, boasts a population of 2,400 friendly people within the city limits. Elevation is 6,249 feet, and the climate is wonderful. Summer temperatures range from the low 70s to the mid 90s during the day, but evening temperatures range from the mid 40s to the high 50s. Winter temperatures vary greatly in a short distance, but the days are usually sunny. Humidity is always low.

Accessible from everywhere...Leave I-70 or U.S. 40 to discover Meeker’s untrodden paths–only 40 miles north of Rifle, 48 miles south of Craig and 75 miles southeast of Dinosaur. If you’re a member of the more adventurous backroad travelers, you may enter Meeker Visitor Center through Price Creek, the Flat Tops Scenic Byway or the Buford/Newcastle road, which are all well-maintained gravel roads during the summer or expertly groomed and marked snowmobile trails in the winter.
