Expert Care Close to Home

With two world-class medical facilities nearby, Tri-Lakes residents are assured a wide selection of excellent healthcare services within close proximity.

Memorial Hospital, a community-owned hospital, has been serving the community since 1904, and has grown with the community and kept at the forefront of technology. The 488-licensed-bed hospital offers the services of some 4,000 employees, 800 physicians and more than 1,000 volunteers. Patients have access to classes, events and health screenings in addition to outpatient services for disease management, radiology and surgery, and inpatient service for cancer care, orthopedics and rehabilitation. What’s more, Memorial Hospital holds the distinction of being the only hospital in southern Colorado that qualifies as a children’s hospital.

Over the past two years, Memorial Hospital has initiated five major expansion projects. Memorial Hospital North, completed in April 2007, is a modern 224,000 square foot hospital located in Briargate. The 98-bed hospital provides a multitude of diagnostic and treatment services, which includes an array of inpatient and outpatient care, surgery, emergency and more.

Penrose Community Hospital in Colorado Springs is part of Centura Health, a non-profit, faith-based health system. As part of the largest healthcare system in Colorado, the 88-bed Penrose Community Hospital offers a wide range of clinical specialties, including cancer care, neuroscience, cardiology and many more. Penrose Community provides quality, compassionate care to Colorado citizens, and strives to nurture the health of the entire community.

The Tri-Lakes area is also home to the U.S. Air Force Academy’s hospital, which treats Air Force personnel and their families in all areas of medicine. Its 24-bed hospital provides a full range of services, ensuring active and inactive personnel, retirees and their families receive top-notch medical treatment.

New St. Francis Medical Center

Opened August of 2008 at Woodmen and Powers is Centura Health’s St. Francis Medical Center.

From our earliest days as Colorado Springs’ first hospital, the heart of the hospital’s mission has been to provide the finest healthcare possible to our community. And as the city and region continue to grow, it is committed to being there to take care of you and your loved ones. That’s why the new St. Francis Medical Center was established; allowing the system to better serve the eastern areas of the city and county.

The 450,000 square foot facility includes 156 patient beds, plus it is home to the Penrose-St. Francis Birth Center—the largest and most advanced birth center in the region. It’s all designed to provide the superior quality care and quality of life for patients, physicians, EMS providers, staff and volunteers you have come to expect from a 2008 HealthGrades America’s 50 Best Hospitals healthcare system.

Premier Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine

Premier Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine, located in the Monument Marketplace, serves the urgent care needs of the growing Tri-Lakes area, seven days a week. Experienced Emergency Medicine staff can treat most problems usually seen in the emergency room such as:

• Complicated lacerations and abscesses
• Broken bones, ingrown nail removal
• Abdominal pain, headache, severe back pain or other muscular injuries
• IV and IV Medication
• Blood work/specialized tests
• A family owned, private facility, Premier Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine also offers follow up Occupational Medicine care.
• As a Designated Pinnacol Assurance provider, Premier’s Level II physicians and staff work closely with local businesses to meet their unique workers compensation and insurance requirements.
