Palisade is located on the Colorado River in Mesa County on the Western Slope of the Colorado Rockies. Situated on Interstate 70, midway between Salt Lake City, Utah and Denver, Colorado, makes the area a convenient stopover for passing tourists as well as destination vacationers.

Palisade is 12 miles east of Grand Junction, the largest city in western Colorado. Walker Field in Grand Junction provides air service and is a short 15-20 minutes away. Train service is also available at the depot 30 minutes away. The location of a major interstate highway (I-70) puts Palisade in the national mainstream for commercial and private transportation.

Conveniently situated at the western edge of the mountains, the lower altitude and geographical location insures a mild climate (annual average of 287 days of sunshine!)...and yet...a 45-minute drive will: put you into the heart of the Rocky Mountains; put you on the slopes of Powderhorn Ski Resort; or put you on the bike trails of the west desert.
