The streets of Palisade are lined with wonderful Victorian homes that set the stage and contribute to the special identity of the town.

The population of Palisade is listed as 2,249 people "and one Grouch!" The Town Grouch is elected annually in August during the Peach Festival, and presides over the festivities. A complete chronological listing of Town Grouch honorees is displayed on a sign outside the local grocery store.

Although it is only 12 miles from the larger city of Grand Junction, Palisade’s unique cultural identity sets it apart.
