The Town of Palisade is a statutory town with an elected Mayor and Board of Trustees. The six Trustees, with overlapping four-year terms, are elected at-large every two years. The Board of Trustees formulates policy, sets municipal code, approves the budget and levies taxes. They meet at 7:30 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at Town Hall, 175 East 3rd Street. A Town Administrator, responsible to the Board of Trustees, is placed in charge of daily operations and running the town. The Administrator supervises all town employees, enforces ordinances and regulations, and manages town services, which include police, fire and public works. Noted for its clear, pure water, the towns water supply comes from a system of natural springs, run-off and reservoirs on the mountain slopes of Grand Mesa.
