Windsor stands behind its schools, and the school district has endeavored to expand as needed to accommodate the growth of the community. Local voters have approved the expansion of the Weld Re-4 School District to include a new elementary school and a new middle school in Severance. District officials continue to assess the needs of students to ensure a first-rate education experience for all learners.
Windsor is also proud to have three major universities and two community colleges offering courses within 15 miles. These institutions of higher learning include Colorado State University (Fort Collins)—which has been recognized as one of the top “100 Best Values in Public College” by Kiplinger Personal Finance—the University of Northern Colorado (Greeley), Regis University (Fort Collins), Colorado Christian University (Loveland), Aims Community College (Loveland, Windsor, Fort Lupton and Greeley) and Front Range Community College (Fort Collins).

One attraction for companies coming to this region is a base of prominent universities and community colleges. In fact, Colorado ranks number two nationwide in workforce education, and colleges and universities in Larimer and Weld counties have helped the state in achieving this ranking.
The Windsor-Severance Library District consists of one public library serving a growing community. Located on the beautiful, northern Colorado Front Range, the library is within 15 miles of Fort Collins, Greeley and Loveland. The main library is located at 720 Third Street in Windsor.
