Antique-lovers will find an intriguing selection of shops in the Whitney Avenue area downtown, and those who appreciate fine art can choose from several galleries. Many popular national chain stores are represented in the retail districts as well.

In December, the annual Hamden Holiday Business Lights Celebration makes the shopping district even more festive, attracting hometown visitors as well as residents from neighboring communities.
