We have felt for some time that the many and varied businesses and organizations which make up the New Britain Chamber of Commerce deserved a special publication, all their own.

This membership directory and city guide is intended to be a practical, long-lasting resource for you when looking for consumer or business-to-business services in the community. You will find every type of business and organization here, retail and restaurants, service and manufacturing, education and health care. As the city has seen a revival in the past few years, so too has its Chamber of Commerce. With nearly 500 members, it is the only organization which speaks for and represents every type of business in every location in the city.

This book, which we hope you will keep handy, provides ready reference to all of those businesses.

But the book is intended to be more than just a directory. New Britain is much larger than just its business community. We wanted this publication to provide a window into the community’s heartbeat. For people and businesses new to thecity, they will learn and read and see what has helped to shape the character and resolve of this historic place.

For longtime businesses and residents, this book, we hope, will remind them of why New Britain celebrated a 150-year anniversary in 2001. Every member of the Chamber of Commerce is included in this membership directory, and their phone numbers and relevant business information will be right at your fingertips for the next few years. New Britain’s businesses and organizations exist because of its people. Some of those businesses and organizations are as old as the city itself and have been celebrating their own anniversaries.
