Recreation

The Recreation Department conducts recreational and leisure activities for all residents of Plainville. They provide residents with a wide variety of social, cultural, educational and physical activities on a year-round basis.

Public parks include Norton Park, a 16-acre park with ball fields, basketball, tennis courts, a playground and a picnic area. The Elizabeth Berner Pool is located in Norton Park. Paderewski Park has a large pond suitable for fishing and boating as well as a covered picnic area, ball fields, tennis courts, a playground and a wading pool. Trumbull Park has a Little League ball field, playground and picnic area. Hamlin Pond has boating and fishing.

Wheeler Regional Family Y.M.C.A., Laurel Lanes Bowling Center, Pattonbrook Golf Course and the Tomasso Nature Park also offer many opportunities to pursue recreational activities.
