DeSoto County is centrally located within driving distance of Florida’s most well-known destinations and attractions, approximately
60 miles southeast of Tampa Bay, 70 miles southeast of St. Petersburg and 200 miles northwest of Miami.
U.S. 17 and Route 70
cross in Arcadia and provide DeSoto County with easy links to the state’s network of expressways. Interstate
75 runs just West and U.S. 27 just East. Both remain popular and well-traveled.
Passenger air travel
in and out of airports in nearby Tampa, Fort
Myers and Sarasota are common, easy options for long-distance travel. Most major
carriers serve airports in the area, making it a simple matter to reach
Arcadia from any origin.
