Gulf Breeze History
The area’s early history is tied closely to neighboring Pensacola and Pensacola Beach. Tales of Native tribes, Spanish explorers, French and British naval excursions and Civil War troops are all part of the narration. But it wasn’t until the 1930s, with the establishment of a post office and store, that Gulf Breeze began its own page in this dialogue. In 2011, the City of Gulf Breeze celebrated its 50th anniversary.
