Pasco 2001 is a plan to educate todays students for tomorrows world. The program provides an integrated instructional program, use of technology, development of parent, community, and business partnerships, career preparation, and a challenging curriculum. The District School Board of Pasco County serves a culturally diverse population of students and adults from across the world. Specialized programs include special needs and gifted educational studies, before and after-school child care services, and community education. Pasco Countys District School Board is proud of its outstanding reputation and its commitment to provide an education that prepares students for the challenges of the future. Pasco County offers residents a variety of continuing and higher education opportunities. Pasco County is home to a branch of Webster College, offering Associate degrees in Business, Medical Technology, and Travel and Tourism.
Pasco-Hernando Community College was established in 1972, and is a multi-campus, two-year college. Supported by the State of Florida, Pasco-Hernando Community College is located in a pleasant rural setting just forty miles from the Tampa-St. Petersburg area. Associate degrees in arts and sciences are available, as are technical credit certificates. Those interested in non-credit, continuing education classes can choose from a variety of programs. 83 full-time and 300 part-time faculty serve the needs of the approximately 17,000 students who study credit and non-credit classes each year. Any person with a standard high school diploma or GED certificate is eligible to enroll at Pasco-Hernando Community College. In addition, several technical certificate programs allow enrollment of non-high school graduates. Many forms of financial assistance are available to eligible students.
