
In recent years, many changes have taken place in personal and commercial banking across the nation. The Sebring area has also experienced these changes and has benefited to the point that there are presently three multi-state banks, six community banks and a credit union, all providing a full range of personal and business banking services, with some providing brokerage services.
Individuals and businesses have many choices when it comes to personal and commercial banking, and new residential and commercial development has flourished with support from the financial community. As a group, area banks are committed to support existing and future development of this growing area and all are mindful of their responsibilities under the Community Reinvestment Act.
A number of brokerage houses exist to serve the needs of investors with stocks, bonds and mutual funds of all types. A number of well-known Wall Street brokerage houses and brokers keep investors up to date on the latest changes and investment techniques that are important to clients. Community financial services are also complemented by a number of independent mortgage brokers active in the area to serve the varied needs of buyers.
Assistance with funding economic development projects is available through the Economic Development Commission of Highlands County. In addition to financing, a variety of incentives and assistance with labor training are also available from this agency.
