Sebring Worship

When George Sebring established the City of Sebring in 1912, he said that no community could be successful without a strong religious foundation, so he donated land to establish a variety of churches and a synagogue. Sebring believed that the pursuit of health and happiness is possible only when there is a foundation of faith involved, and the present-day large community of active Christians and Jews is a highly compatible outgrowth of his vision. Many friendships, business relationships, golf foursomes, bridge tables, tennis doubles matches, dinner groups and religious study groups with deeply caring and supportive relationships are an outgrowth of shared faith and experiences. Whether a resident or a visitor, you will find a warm and open invitation to be a part of such groups as may fit your personal beliefs and needs.

Highlands County is home to over 125 houses of worship, with more than half of those located in the greater Sebring area. The high sense of values embraced by citizens of this area can be attributed to the fact that a large percentage of people attend worship services on a regular basis.

A synagogue and churches of many faiths are represented in and around the Sebring area. Most have special programs for youth and senior citizens as well as for the entire family. What a wonderful way for newcomers to meet new people and develop a support network of people from like faith!
