Quality of life in Sebring is second-to-none.
The county seat of centrally located Highlands County, Sebring is nearly equidistant to the major city centers of Tampa, Orlando, Sarasota, Ft. Myers, Naples and West Palm Beach, but it exudes a small-town charm and rural character all of its own.
Fellowship and community pride are keystones to the city, where a progressive attitude shows in our ongoing revitalization and cultural projects.
Sebring’s center is historic Circle Park, which won an award for its recent renovation. Surrounded by period buildings, which house independent merchants and businesses, the park is both a hub of activity and an example of the South’s slower pace of life and natural beauty – a modern blend of simple and sophisticated. The park is a favorite location for all community happenings, from classic car shows to the Christmas Carousel of Lights.

Along the shores of Lake Jackson (covering more than 9,000 acres), the city owns and maintains several beachfront parks, a boat ramp and a fishing pier. The pier is behind the city’s cultural center, which includes a community theater, an art museum and public library. A wide sidewalk circles the lake, providing more than 11 miles of safe, enjoyable waterfront walking and biking.
Highlands County is bounded on its east side by the famous Kissimmee River and is home to Lake Istokpoga – rated one of the best bass lakes in the country.
Sebring itself nestles on the Lake Wales Ridge, an area of undulating terrain and quiet back roads, ideal for cycling. There are countless opportunities for outdoor family activities like: swimming, sailing, water-skiing, kayaking, hiking, bird watching and fishing.
The city has several golf courses, softball fields and tennis courts, as well as hotels and a variety of restaurants.
With mild winters and affordable prices, Sebring is a popular destination. It is the combination of tradition, cutting-edge and the variety of natural wonder, culture, sports and shopping make Sebring such a special experience for everyone who visits.
